Refrigerated crescent rolls are a ridiculously easy way to make a great snack food for football games, parties and potlucks. Most people are familiar with "pigs in a blanket", but these creamy sausage rolls are a little bit different - a buttery, flaky roll, filled with a creamy sausage filling.
Creamy Sausage Crescents
Ingredients:
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
1 lb package breakfast sausage
Brown & crumble the sausage in a skillet over medium heat; drain and place in a medium mixing bowl.
Add the softened cream cheese and mix well to combine.
Unroll the refrigerated crescent rolls and separate them into individual rolls. Place a heaping spoonful of the sausage mixture on the widest end of the roll. Roll the crescent roll towards the narrow end (the triangle point).
I am NOT good at rolling crescents.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet.
You will need 2 baking sheets, or you can just bake the rolls in batches.
Bake rolls in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until browned.
This is only about 1/2 of the total yield.
Enjoy! These freeze well and reheat nicely, too.

That sounds awesome! I make a sausage, cream cheese, and rotel dip, but never have I thought to do something like this. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie! These really are easy, and I'm sure your boys would love them!
