Bacon Cheddar Ranch Cheese Ball

I love a good cheese ball. They're a "love it or hate it" food, much maligned and considered the most low-brow of party foods. Skanky or not, I think they're GREAT.

That being said, cheese balls are usually the FIRST party food on a buffet table that gets tucked into; they're easy to make, inexpensive, and infinitely customizable. This version pays homage to that holy trinity of trashy flavors: bacon, cheddar, and Ranch

I shredded the cheese and cooked the bacon myself, but, to save time, you can always use packaged shredded cheese and pre-cooked bacon strips or bacon bits.

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Cheese Ball

Ingredients:
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
8 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Dash hot sauce (I prefer Frank's Red Hot)
Dash Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Combine the cream cheese, cheddar, bacon, Ranch mix, garlic powder, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.

Form into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap; chill for 1 hour.

Roll ball in chopped pecans, re-wrap, and chill for another hour. Allow to come to room temperature before serving.
