Dried Fruit Cheese Ball

I actually published this post yesterday, but somehow it disappeared/Blogger ate it/etc. So, I'm trying again..

I forgot that I hadn't published this post; in addition to my Cinnamon Pear Bars, I also brought a nice little cheese ball home for Christmas for snacking on. However, unless most cheese balls that are more savory or salty thanks to ingredients like bacon or chives, this one is sweet, thanks to a hint of honey and dried fruits.

Instead of serving this with plain crackers, try graham crackers or gingersnaps - I used some mini (bite-sized) gingersnap cookies, which was perfect!

Dried Fruit Cheese Ball

Ingredients:1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp honey
1/2 8oz block mild Cheddar cheese, grated/shredded
1 7oz package dried mixed fruit, chopped (I like Sunmaid "Fruit Bits")
1 cup chopped pecans

Combine the cream cheese & honey; beat with an electric mixer until smooth.

Stir in the Cheddar cheese and dried fruit - mix well to combine.

Shape into a ball and roll in pecans. Chill for 3 hours before serving. Serve with graham crackers or gingersnaps.

  1. Thanks for the great recipes. I've been trying to learn Japanese cooking, a little at a time. We live miles and miles from an Asian market so get there only about every three months or so. Recently got some baby bok choi, daikon and tofu. I've decided to make my own tofu, being so isolated, so will be buying a tofu maker soon. Wish me luck. Your recipes are an inspiration. Love the zucchini cakes and crockpot unfried beans. Do come by Prairie Cottage Corner and give me a shout. I do recipes and quilts and patterns and whatever. I'm a new follower. See you later, Kathie (about as far from you as possible and still be on the map in Washington state)
